The North Avenue Beach Ball volleyball tournaments are reasonably priced doubles tourneys for v-ball players of all ages familiar with the standard beach tourney format and its rules.  We employ experienced staff to ensure these tourneys are well organized.  And we provide cash prizes for the winners.

We run the following classifications in each tourney; Mens, Womens and Co-ed 2’s.  The groups are divided into three divisions (A, A/B, B).   In most tourneys, we also offer a mens and womens Pro division along with boys and girls Junior divisions.

Advance Registration Only:
Advance registration sign-up is through our online shopping cart; 1st come, 1st served, till filled.  Please note, we only accept Visa and Mastercard.  And advance registration runs through Thursday night preceding each event. 

Important Notice:
Please note, we don't accept Walk-on teams.  


Tourney Check-in: 9:30 - 10:00 a.m.


Tourney Duration:  10:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
For most, about 3/5th of the teams, the tourney will end at around 2:30 - 3:30. 

But please note, for those teams advancing to the playoff round, play will continue until the team either loses or wins it all.  And it is not unusual for championship matches to end late in the day, as late as 7:00.  (Usually, the higher the division, the longer the day.)  So, teams should be prepared to spend the entire day at the beach.


Format
In general, the format is round-robin pool play among 5 teams, each match is 1 game to 25 by rally score.  The top 2 teams from each pool advance to a single-elimination playoff round.  (This format may be modified slightly for 4 or 6 team pools.)

Rules

Team Prizes:

Pro Division: 1st - $500, 2nd - $200, 3rd - $100, 4th - $70
(Based on a minimum of 8 teams.  If less, the prize money will be proportionately reduced.)

Amateur Mens, Womens & Co-ed Divisions:
A:     1st - $120, 2nd - $80 & it's also a Pro qualifier (top 4 teams)
A/B:  1st - $80, 2nd - $40
B:     1st - $60, 2nd - $30

Payouts will be made through Visa Gift Cards (accepted everywhere Visa is taken) or by check.

Juniors:  Trophies and medals of comparable value will be awarded.  First place teams will receive the coveted BEACH BALL CUP, our monster 5 foot tall trophy.

Refunds:
Tourney fees are non-refundable, unless the tournament is rained out.  A rainout occurs when there's a forecasted downpour throughout the day.  We play through a passing shower and light rain. 

If the weather is iffy the morning of the tourney, before coming to the beach, be sure to check your email for our weather updates.  We'll also post delays and cancellation notices on this website. 

If players have to endure a storm that creates a long delay, we give full or partial refunds, depending on the duration of the storm.  Players will receive a 15% refund for each ½ hour, starting once it's apparent the skies won't quickly clear up. 

Qualifications:
Players must know the standard beach volleyball rules and must supply their own volleyballs.  Those under 18 years of age must obtain a parent or guardian's written approval.
